What does it mean when someone is happy, sad, tired, frustrated, irritated, euphoric, exhausted, ecstatic or distracted?

You will find out if you come with your cameras for this out-of-the-ordinary practical session.

 

 

 

We’re meeting at the entrance to the Jardin Botanique, at 12:30 on Tuesday, 1 May.

We’ll keep you informed in case of bad weather.

Next session of the CPI will take place on Tuesday, 17 April at 18:00 in Room S1 (ground floor, between doors 2 and 5).

Members who attended the session at the Château des Penthes are invited to bring your pictures to share with the group.

Please bring your photographs on a USB key–not more than 10 per person.

International Hot Air Balloons in Geneva, Saturday, 14 April at 13:30

To all our members!

This Saturday and Sunday (14 and 15 April), there will be a magnificent aerial show in Geneva:

The 6th INTERNATIONAL HOT AIR BALLOONS OF GENEVA

A sight to wonder at!

On this occasion, we invite you to an extraordinary session outdoors to take photographs of

The preparation involved in sending up a balloon

We will meet at the entrance of the parc des Eaux-Vives, lakeside (quai Gustave Ador) around 13:30 to participate in sending the balloons up.

The photographs taken will be presented at a later session.

Come with your families! Children–future artists–are welcome. Their pictures can also be included in the session.

• Samedi 14 April
The balloons will leave, depending on the weather, in the parks Bertrand, Bastions, Mon-Repos, La Grange et Eaux-Vives. They will leave in the morning at 9:00 and in the afternoon at 14h30.

We will keep you informed in case of bad weather.

The next session will take place on Tuesday, 27 March at 12:30 in Room XV.

Antonio Puig, a professional photographer in Geneva, will share some insights into the different kinds of cameras available and their use.

He will speak, in particular, about the new cameras without mirrors and the compacts with interchangeable lenses.

La prochaine session du CPI aura lieu mardi le 28 février à 18h dans la Salle S3 (3ème étage entre les portes 1 et 2) au Palais des Nations.

Etudes de cas présentés par Jean-Luc La Planeta et Sergio da Silva

Illustration pratique et correction de situations (à l’aide de Photoshop) causées par un éclairage difficile ou déficient lors de la prise de vue. Les photos résultat présentent souvent des défauts liés à une exposition irrégulière de la lumière, ce qui peut donner comme résultat, des photos partiellement voilées, manquant de détails et de moindre intérêt.

Case studies presented by Jean-Luc La Planeta and Sergio da Silva

Practical examples using Photoshop of how to improve photographs with problems caused by difficult or bad light. This can result in photographs with irregular exposure, where half the photograph is either over or underexposed.

Exhibition of photos received for 2011 CPI Competition

The vernissage of the exhibition of photos received for 2011 CPI Competition on Trees was held on Monday, 6 February.

The exhibition will go on until 17 February on the third floor of the Palais des Nations, in the passerelle between the old building and the E building. If you haven’t been already, do go see it!
